More CBT

I enjoyed my CBT session this morning. I’ve put in a lot of effort over the past three weeks and my therapist is really pleased with my progress.

We discussed some of the experiences I have been though in my life which have caused me distress and how this has impacted on my anxiety levels.  It’s been really helpful to look at these events and realise that many of them happened over twenty years ago. My brain is still trying to protect me from situations that I wouldn’t find myself in today. Interesting stuff I’m learning about myself for sure.

I have more homework to complete and visit with my CBT therapist for the last time in three weeks time.

Hubby and I went to the pool after lunch and chatted with another couple while we walked. I’m really pleased with my progress in the pool. We started walking a couple of days a week for 30 minutes and have worked up to five days a week. The first time I walked in the pool, my ankles hurt and my legs felt like jelly when I got out. Over the past month, my legs must be getting stronger because I don’t have those problems anymore.

That’s all from me today. I’ll let you know how I get on with my work related appointment tomorrow.

Love KB

  1. You know. I am dealing with my own issues right now but with not nearly as much support as you have. I cannot even begin to tell you how encouraging this is to me. Your progress is my progress.

  2. I think it is great that you have a support team! We all need this and some of us are not blessed in this way. Keep it up, you are doing very well!

  3. It's so good to know things are going so well for you, and I hope they will continue to do so. Yes, it's important to remember that those events are in the past to help free you in the present time!

  4. you are doing so well, happy for you.

  5. You are doing great! I am trying to start walking a lot. Hate running. Pool idea is interesting. We shall see! :)
